Search Modes on the Garrett AT Gold:

All Metal Mode

• Provides the deepest detection depth and is highly sensitive to all metal types.
• Ideal for gold nuggets, relics, and deeper targets.
• Offers manual ground balance and full target audio, giving advanced users more control.

Discrim 1 (Discrimination Mode 1)

• Designed for coin hunting and general-purpose detecting.
• Filters out trash targets like iron while still allowing for detection of valuable metals.
• Best for moderately trashy areas.

Discrim 2 (Discrimination Mode 2)

• Offers even greater iron discrimination.

AT GOLD™ Iron Audio

Avoid unwanted targets!

Iron Audio helps you distinguish between valuable metals and iron trash before you dig it. It allows you to hear discriminated iron (normally silenced) to avoid digging undesired flat iron targets like bottle caps or washers.

NOTE: To use the Iron Audio feature, some degree of Iron Discrimination must be set. With an Iron Discrim setting of 35 and with Iron Audio switched off when testing a steel bottle cap and a silver coin, both items sound like potential “good” targets. With the Iron Audio, the bottle cap response includes iron “grunts” to indicate this might be a trash target.

Proportional Audio Feature
